Station Number: VT-WH-29
Station Name: Brattleboro 0.7 S
Report Date: 2/1/2026
Submitted: 2/01/2026 6:05 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Last weekends storm brought 12.8" of snow from 1.32" of moisture. Not quite the leaf blower snow many talked about beforehand. But it did make for some really good skiing. I was out 3 days straight, Tuesday - Thursday. This storm was different in that the cold just never broke and low traffic residential streets are still partly snow covered a week later. It is still cold with zero now and below zero most past mornings. It did keep the ski crowds down a little. The snow was also a big boost for snowmobiling and related businesses. I have 14" of snow on the ground. For the month precip was 3.02" compared to the norm of 3.39, still a little below but I say near normal today. Recorded 22.8" of snow compared to my longtime average of 16.7" for January. Few birds at my feeder for several days after the storm but now back to normal.
