10 -year Avg. snowfall 16" was exceeded by 2.5".  20-year normal precip. in Manistique of 1.70" was greatly exceeded by observed 3.08" due to mid-month overnight deluge. Last 10 days little precip. 10-year avg. snow depth on 1/31 is !!" vs. observed 14.0".
No deer tracks all gone W. and S. to areas where fields blown almost clear of snow.  Few hare or grouse.  No finches or nomadic birds of any kind at feeder just chickadees etc. year-long residents.
A few logging trucks on US2.  Many motels and restaurants closed for season.  Not much traffic on road except commuters and local residents.  Secondary roads quite icy beneath packed snow.  Parent Creek iced over which is unusual- combination of cold and low flow.
