A Winter Storm impacted the area last weekend, and resulted in an additional 1.05" inches of precipitation last Sunday. With the below normal temperatures we have been experiencing this week, the melt rate of the snow and sleet has been slow with overall ground coverage ranging from 75% to near 90% of the ground still covered by snow and sleet. Next, our soil moisture has greatly improved thanks to the slow melting of our leftover winter snow pack, and it is my hope that we can get more rainfall soon to help further improve our soil moisture. Lastly, area wildlife sightings this week were mainly a few birds, however I did see a squirrel in our front yard too.
