Only a trace of precip over the week, all from occasional flurries on a couple of different days.  Waterways are frozen up but their levels appear normal.  The ground is definitely frozen after the last 2 weeks of seriously cold weather, with more normal temps on the way.  So it seems near normal soil conditions are about right for now.  There's still about 3" of snow on the ground with many open fields blown mostly clear.  Deer have been about and in hay fields they have been busy digging up available grasses.  I haven't seen any signs of active mice inside lately so maybe the smarter ones have figured out that it's safer to stay outside.  The dumber ones are outside too, just not too active.
