As a direct result of this winter storm precipitation, the outdoor heat pump was operating outside the manufacturers recommended temperature range. Protective tarp was added to keep fins from over icing and impeding airflow thus increasing inefficiency and incessant appliance running overnight. Two additional space heaters were used indoors resulting in more energy use to achieve indoor temperature >55 F.
