Description:
Extremely below normal temperatures this past week with six various low temperature records set with plenty of light snow. 

(20 JAN to 26 JAN) 

Precipitation for the period was 0.10”. -0.46” for the period. 
Cal yr 1.78, -0.05” below annual seasonal normal. 

Snow: 2.6”  -0.9” for the period. 
Snow Season: 32.5”. +6.9” above for the season
Snow Depth Average: 4.4”. 

Frost Depth under sod: 3.8”
Frost Depth under bare ground: 6.0”

Temperatures averaged 2.4 degrees, -19.4 below normal for the period.  

Soil temperatures, for the period, at 2” have averaged 26.6 degrees, 4” average is 30.2 degrees, 8” average is 32.7 degrees and 20” average is 35.9 degrees. -3.6 overall decrease, on average, from the previous period. 

Temperatures continued to shift to extreme cold from last week with the average temperature dropping -18.7 degrees from last week. (21.1 to 2.4) and down 33.1 degrees overall in the past two weeks. Six temperature records were set. Two record low max temperatures, two record low min temperatures and two low average temperature records.   Frost depth dropped to 3.8”, nearly doubling from the previous week. 

The birds have returned with an average of 20 or more to the bird feeder with more snow pack and frozen ground, around the two seed stations and suet stations. Squirrels and bunny rabbits are out as well each day.
