Although it is near normal for this time of the year with snow we have just endured Winter Storm Fern and registered a total of 6" of snow at Station OH-WS-12 with a trace or .02 centimeters of sleet/ice on top of the snow. This has caused some difficulty in getting the measurement of the snow depths due to getting measuring device to the bottom base of the snow board equipment. In addition, neighborhood dogs and people are having difficulty walking due to no walking through the snow but actually walking "on top" of the snow only to fall through due to sleet/ice crust on top of the snow. Birds are active and feeding at feeders through the entire storm. All weather equipment including Anemometer, Windsock and weathervane continued operating nicely through the storm including during the sleet/ice.
Sun is just attempting to break through the overcast on Monday January 26, 2026 at 11:26am. Roads are still covered with snow and ice. Station OH-WS-12 and all of Washington County Ohio is still under a Level 3 Snow Emergency with Non-Emergency Vehicles prohibited from roadways.
