Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MS-LW-11
Station Name: Forreston 1.4 SW
Report Date: 1/26/2026
Submitted: 1/26/2026 7:47 AM
Scale Bar: Severely Wet
Description:
First report in a long time. Very cold today 19º and all standing water is frozen, 1.38 taken from gauge after unthawing. Currently experiencing a hard with storm event that has brought extreme cold temps and a lot of rain/sleet mixed in my area. No Sleet has accumulated on the plants or tress, power lines in my area. We have not lost power during this event over the course of the last few days when others have due to trees, limbs, breaking due to weight. The ground is saturated in my area as there is standing water in the fields and ditches.

This station is approx 300’ from the Tombigbee River which is rising. So that adds another diamension to this storm the potential for River flooding in an extreme cold situation. The roads are clean with no ice accumulation. With the river height being up it may affect Commerce , Barge Traffic. Propbably no one will be out fishing.
