Conditions here are moderately dry.  We are still in a "drought" for central North Carolina.  A winter storm estimated to be predominantly rain with sleet and freezing rain is due in tonight through Monday morning(?).  Rainfall for January is about 30% of "normal".  This storm should bring the coldest temperatures of the year so far.  Cold weather is predict ed possibly in to late this coming week.  NC DOT salt and sand trucks are already out anticipating the iced roadways.
