The ground is frozen, but it at least it isn't muddy.  It has been soft this week and has moisture (at least on top).  It was cold at night and mild during the day this week up until the end when it became bitter cold ahead of a snow storm.  Our local Walmart was insane the day before the event was to begin!  People love to panic before a snow event, but at least there was still milk on the shelves.  Birds were really hitting the feeders this week and the bird bath as well.  I have seen more deer this week as well.  You can definitely tell it is mid-Winter.
