Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CA-VT-18
Station Name: Thousand Oaks 2.3 NE
Report Date: 1/21/2026
Submitted: 1/21/2026 8:15 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Wet
Description:
For the first time in memory, no part of California is in drought. We have had 14.74 inches of rain this water year at my station. We are in a dry spell now, but have possible light rain tomorrow.
We have trimmed our roses and are putting out fertilizer for a bumper crop of roses because the rain has pushed down the accumulated soil salts. The brushy areas around us are green. The threat of brush fires during Santa Ana winds is reduced and conflagrations like the ones that hit Pacific Palisades and Altadena last winter are unlikely. We do not have water restrictions, although we are careful not to waste water.
