We have had plenty of snow this winter but we have also had a few very warm spells that have melted snow.  This has made it difficult for the Nordic ski and downhill ski areas to keep the recreational skiing in good condition.  Pond hockey rinks and ice skating rinks are also hard to maintain.  Winter celebrations such as Winter Carnival and Snow Sculpture Competitions have had some difficulty keeping outdoor activities and competitions moving smoothly.
