Mostly normal week for January, relatively cold, snow, wind, and ice. A little more snow for insulation of crop roots. Frost in the ground close to the same all week, not too deep to hurt pipes and deep enough to kill some pests. Rivers had open water in fast channels but ice on the banks. Not enough snow stayed for outdoor activities, some ice fishing was possible in slow moving water areas. Varmints tracks could be seen more often than the animals. Very few stray shed antlers were found. Wildfire danger was low with the snow.
