Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CO-LR-1272
Station Name: Estes Park 1.7 SW
Report Date: 1/18/2026
Submitted: 1/18/2026 12:47 PM
Scale Bar: Severely Dry
Description:
Decided to change to Severely Dry today. We haven't had much moisture of any kind, the snowpack in my neighborhood is non-existent except for very protected spots that had drifted fairly heavily during the last snow. MTD and YTD moisture is 35% of PRISM Normal, and WYTD is 49% of PRISM Normal. Strong winds the last 2 days has really dried out the ground. Birds continue to frequent the birdbath. I haven't seen many other animals other than a couple of deer stotting along my fence-line on the way to who-knows-where. The peaks around me have some snow on them but most are more bare than snow-covered. No new fire restrictions beyond the permanent Stage 1 restrictions. The Big Thompson River below Moraine Park is running at less than 50% of historical average. SWE as measured by Snotel sites is 58% of Median in my 6-Digit HUC and 70% in my 8-Digit HUC. There is no snow for sledding at Hidden Valley in the park.
