Station Name: Cedar Rapids 2.1 NW
Report Date: 1/18/2026
Submitted: 1/18/2026 10:50 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Category D1 still remains. Mid January has been a jangled mix of typical Iowa weather. In my opinion, it is running on a cycle. Snow Saturday yet again this week. Snow blower, leaf blower, broom and shovel required. Blowing snow, squalls, winds, etc. Winter. Currently have a pretty weak snow pack of around an inch or less depending where the snow drifted etc. Witnessed a few squirrels, a couple of rabbits and several deer. There was an increase of birds, but has since dwindled. A tree limb in my back yard has cracked and looks ready to break off anytime now. There are still leaves on it as well. Looking ahead as we are under the Cold Advisory with dangerous wind chills, be Winter Weather Ready even more than we already are :):).
