Description:
The overall appearance of the landscape in my area where I hike and move about is green with grass and new growth and re-greening of the the native plants. There is a generous appearance of mushrooms, ferns, various mosses and lichens in the shaded areas and the start of seasonal native flowers like lupine. There are few free-flowing streams but the channeled creek behind my house still has some water in it from the last rains. Sumac and sagebrush have greened up very well; white-flowering currant is in bloom and here and there ceanothus is in bloom with more to come. It's a lovely time of year to be out and about.
