With 0.40” of gauge catch this week, conditions remain near normal. Warm temperatures earlier this week melted much of the ice on the Pascoag Reservoir leaving large areas of open water. Not so good for winter activities like skating or ice fishing, but several Bald Eagles have enjoyed sitting on the edge of the open water to do a little fishing. Winter birds like sparrows, juncos, chickadees, woodpeckers and blue jays are very active as have been the squirrels. George Washington state park is still posting Low for fire danger and the NIDIS website shows the southern 75% of the state in abnormally dry conditions.
