it has been very dry here. since i began reporting in CoCoRaHS on October 29, 2025, we have had less than 2 inches of rain. There are still leaves on trees, but they are the thinner trees that sprouted after Hurricane Helene. The leaves are not supple but somewhat rough and inflexible to the touch. Evergreen vegetation is showing browning patches, and pine needles are falling to the ground in brown, dried condition. Soil is hard, and, when it does manage to rain it runs off as opposed to absorbing into the soil.
