The are certainly more freeze-thaw cycles this year than I remember, so we have an unusual amount of ice. If it weren't for random light dustings of snow, I wouldn't be able to report whether I had seen footprints this week. However, with the snow, I can tell you that cats and opossums have been seen, and rabbit tracks are everywhere.
On one day (Tuesday) there was so much ice that school was two hours late, but on many days it has made it difficult or even scary to check the rain gauge. (Yes, I am very careful.)
The longer days are very noticeable now, and it is twilight as I write this at 5:15, which is delightful.
