Mild to start the week with two systems moving through mid week bringing some much needed rain and the most snow this season (but not much) and very cold temperatures afterwards. The high was 56° last Saturday, which was the high of the week, and temperatures stayed in the 50's before the first system arrived on Wednesday. The first system was all rain with .18 inches falling. The second system followed quickly after and was all snow. .36 inches of melted snow fell and 1.9 inches of snow. That was the total snow for the week with .54 inches of rain/melted snow for the week. About an inch of snow remains on the ground. Temperatures turned much colder after the storm departed with a high of only 28° on Friday. A low of 12° was recorded this morning, Saturday, which is the coldest temperature this season. It was windy at times this week but nothing very strong. The Potentilla is budding out. By far, the earliest ever but expect the buds to die back with the cold temperatures that came later in the week. Saw seven robins in the crabapple tree eating crabapples and what looked like a Ladder-backed Woodpecker also eating in the tree. No other wildlife seen.
