Conditions here are approaching severely dry.  The entire State is now in a drought condition.  Small streams are dying, lawns and golf courses are yellow and the ground surface duff is very dry.  A "red flag" warning against outdoor burning has been in effect for about two weeks.  The slightly warmer temperatures have been pleasant for walking.  Rain is forecast for today, however debatable as to the forecast storm reaching the Piedmont.
