Temperatures rose after the sleet and snow of the  previous Sunday and the only snow remaining is the piles, and road ditches and of course the drifts.  With the up and down temps, the rivers are either open or ice covered but nothing that  would hold up to much weight.  Deer hunting season almost over in the area, but more than enough remain as one can see driving around corn stalk fields where 'herds' of deer co-mingle at early dusk.  Not seeing cardinals at the bird feeder as in the past but plenty of blue jays, snowbirds, flickers but few downy woodpeckers.
