Over the previous 30 days this station has received three rains totaling 0.17 inches. Combined with low humidity and high winds the top soil moisture is nearly gone. Grass, potted plants and gardens are needing irrigation. Weather stations have warned about fire dangers and burn bans are in effect for most of the nearby counties. The public water suppliers in Brazos County have not issued water use restrictions. We have experienced near record high temperatures (80-84 F) and only one day below freezing. We usually get a few beneficial rains during the transition from Fall to Winter but only the 1.27-inch rain at the end of November has improved moisture levels over the past three months.
