Since last reported on 12/28/2025, recorded only a trace of precipitation on 12/28/25, 12/29/25 and 01/02/26. Trace of snowpack was recorded on 12/28 - 12/31 from the arctic air mass precipitating dry snow. Topsoil sample taken this afternoon indicates dry soil down to the 2.0" level then moist soil below that. 

To summarize December 2025, received a total precipitation of 0.27" reported the first four days of the month. There was no additional measurable precipitation after that. December precipitation was 77% of NOAA normal and 55% of PRISM normal. 

Watered the trees last week and this moisture is still prevalent under the trees. Observed the usual number of birds this past week and Cottontails grazing in the yard. Red Flag Warning was posted today with gusty Chinook winds and 15% relative humidity in the I-25 corridor. Did not hear of any wildfires today. A 71-mph wind gust was reported at Manitou Springs today. With moisture content in the soil holding fairly steady, I will maintain a Mildly Dry Condition Scale.
