General Awareness: ---
Precipitation: We recorded  63.8 mm of rain this in the last 15 days.  December ened up with 273.8 mm, the rainiest month ever recorded at this station (109% of average).  
The calender year ended up with 1361.2mm, 85.5% of average.  January-so-far has seen 22.6mm or 111% of average. The water year so-far has seen 670.6mm, which is 145% of average.
We haven't had any measurable snow, yet at our elevation (21.5 cm snow deficit for season-so-far)
--- Weather Observations: This past week it has been a mix of rain & sun, wind & calm.  Humidity has been between 80 & 100%, temperatures have been below 10C.  
There have been a few snow flurries, but nothing which could be measured.
--- Drought Monitoring Assessments: No drought assements are available from the province over the winter for our region. 
The most recent AgCan assesment is from November.

Business: DFO lists wild coho & sockeye are non-retention. Yelloweye rockfish are non-retention, other rockfish, halibut & lingcod are closed. 
Bivalves are closed.

Fire: Cultural & Prescribed Burns: There is a OFTS registered prescribed burn on Malcolm Island, 
another in Hyde Creek and a couple more around the base for Mount Holberg.
--- Burn Ban: Coastal Fire Centre has no burn bans in effect.
--- Wildfire: None in our area as per BC Wildfire Service.
--- Fire Risk: Not calculated by the province from November to April.

Energy: My heater has been working hard, we have been using the pellet stove from time to time.
Some neighbors are burning wood for heat.

--- Lawns: very green and lush.
--- Birds: Blue herons, eagles, juncos, crows, brandt's commorants, pigeons & gulls, otters & seals.

Society & Public Health:
--- Disease: BCCDC's report up to December 20 says that influenza rates are still increasing, with the highest rates among children.  
RSV is increasing, mostly among kids; although rates are low to moderate.
CoViD-19 rates are low & decreasing.
No measles has been reported in the Island Health Authority.
--- Water Supply & Quality: Well Level:  Well levels crossed into being a little above normal on about December 22, and have stayed slightly above normal since then. 
The level is currently 6.32 m below surface.
