It is so very dry here now. We haven't had rain since December 2nd - a whopping .03 inches! We've been missing what little rain has been in the NE Oklahoma area, but there is hope for some good moisture next week. Fingers crossed!
It's been mild enough that I've watered new plantings from the spring and fall a couple of times and feel like I should again. The water level at Grand Lake is low -at least at my house. It's lower than I've seen it here in 6 years. That probably means it'll be flooding all next spring like it did last spring!
I don't know that this dry stretch is affecting anything commercially in Grove. This town is centered on fishing tournaments and lake fun and those keep going so for now, it's okay.
I have wood that washed up in my yard last spring that needs to be burned. It's cut up but until we get some moisture, I'm not about to light it up. If we miss the rain again, I would suspect that there will be a burn ban. The good news is we are supposed to have warm temps on Monday so I can mow my leaves one last time.
