Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: TX-HNT-11
Station Name: Royse City 3.5 ENE
Report Date: 12/29/2025
Submitted: 12/29/2025 4:54 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Only a Trace of precipitation was observed this past week for this station. It has been a very dry month and nothing in the forecast for the next several weeks. The story for the week was the above normal temperatures - highs were in the 80s each day except one day that was 75 degrees. Lows were in the 50s and 60s. Had to turn the air conditioning back on for several days. A very strong dry cold front moved through late afternoon yesterday (Sunday) dropping temperatures significantly but back to more seasonal numbers. We were under a Wind Advisory all day and overnight. (DFW proper broke record high temperatures for many days last week.) Some garden plants seemed to think it was Spring already as some appeared to have a slight bit of new growth although the Shumard Oak tree finally finished dropping all its leaves. Wildlife seemed to be fine with the warm weather - decent activity at the bird feeder and bath with the usual suspects. Had a Red-Shouldered Hawk visit my yard and land on the fence - seemed to be hunting as he had his eyes on the prairie restoration area. Weather did not affect holiday activities except for one news report I saw that a temporary ice skating rink had to close due to the warm weather - silly Texas. lol Santa still made it though - he even brought me a weather station because I was so good this year - hoping to be able to give more accurate reports now for this station regarding temperature, wind speed, etc.
