Lighter snows of about 3cm in total this week mixed with freezing drizzle. Snow cover on the ground is about 23 cm, or 9”deep. Skiing conditions on the Nordic trails and downhill are reported as good. There have been occasional snowmobiles out on Lower Black Sturgeon Lake. On nearby Lake of the Woods, the ice is not yet deep enough for the ice road. Forest walking trails are navigable. Deer mobility is unencumbered by the snow. The feeder is busy with birds as noted in the previous report. Feeling like a pretty typical December heading into the new year.
