December 14 0 20, 2025: A total of 0.39 inches total rain measured during the last 4 days this week. Dec. 14 had inversion air quality, and Dec. 14-16th were cold and damp. Beginning Dec 17, there was a large weather system moving through Idaho from the west coast with very strong, sustained winds on the 17th then warming and wet the rest of the week. The daytime low for Dec. 19th was 48°. Unusally warm weather for mid to late December....about 10-15° F higher than normal. Grass is green and growing. Early spring bulbs are putting up leaves through garden mulch. Birds and other wildlife are very active at the feeders, with flocks of robins eating seeds in the cedar trees. Snow on foothills ridges and mountain peaks deposited one day is melted by rain the next. Unusual weather continues! Percent normal snowpack maps show very low numbers throughout the state while percent normal precip. maps for the water year have very high numbers.
