The moderately dry condition continues here.  We finally received some rain this past week, however a dry period is forecast for the next week.  At this time NC is in a "drought condition" due to rainfall behind the average.  Although a "no-burn" has not been issued the ground and surface duff is dry and a possible fire hazard.  Birds and deer are active foraging.  Water levels in small creeks and and streams are low.
