It's been a week of receiving small snow amounts on two occasions during week. It was little, light making it fun to shovel for once. The cold temps are what everyone is talking about not liking. It also reminds of past winters where snow and low temps were the norm. Creeks are still open while rivers have a layer of ice. I presume creeks are open due to warm water from tile outlets that are along creeks. With the snow cover, pheasants appear lost as to where they should look for easy food. The deer don't seem to mind as they trample around the bldg sites looking for easy food for the taking. Song birds are more prevalent at the feeders, especially the junco, and some woodpeckers.
