Description:
Winter weather has settled in mostly with cold temps. Just 0.15" of snow fell this week here, but temperatures have been colder than average for this time of year. Most of the week (night and day) temps have been below freezing, dropping to single digits or teens. Dew point reached below zero one morning, and winds have been strong. A few days included windchill temps below zero, even during daylight.
Wildlife is centered around the bird feeder with a rabbit darting out from under the bushes a couple of times when I go out to collect snowpack samples. These include the usual sparrows and less often seen cardinals, and some Juncoes as well. Crows continue to visit a couple times a day too.
The local ski spot (Ward Hill) has been making snow, combined with what has fallen and the colder temps have brought in a good showing of skiers when I drove by a few times.
Soon enough, the planets will align and put us squarely into winter. Weather conditions certainly put us there. It's all good...
