Generally: In December, we currently have received 5.7" of snow, compared with our 5 year average of 23.75. Admittedly it's early in the month, and we have started to catch up. We have had 6.6" of snow (1.53" Of gauge catch) since Oct 1, and we expect 5.05 through December). That having been said, we're making gains: our December gauge catch is at 1.02" thanks to rain/slush totals. We expect 2.02" in December, so we may be on target ultimately. Still, the late and compromised snowfall is distressing, but not out of the question based on the past 5 years.
Agriculture: The winter wheat is currently covered with snow, so our neighbors are feeding their cows hay.
Energy: This is a low production period (compromised even further by the fact that we're having to do supplemental heating due to heat pump failure). We created 16.4 kWHR yesterday and used 39.4 kWHR. The day was dreary and cloudy, and there was virtually no sunshine.
Fire: low risk
Plants/wildlife: We're seeing winter birds, and have a few deer herds in the neighborhood.
Water: Again, cautiously optimistic.
