Description:
A week with only 0.20" of precipitation and average high 57f, low 43.8F. November rainfall was 7.25", 117%, while the water year is now at 11.56", 126% of normal. Ruth Lake is up to 83% as of 11/24. The drought map now shows only Orange, San Diego, the western parts of Riverside and Imperial counties in drought, along with a strip along the eastern borders of Inyo, San Bernardino and Riverside. The areas covered are at the two lowest levels of drought. With the recent lack of much rainfall, the Mad and Eel Rivers have dropped, while the temperatures of the Trinity and Klamath Rivers have also dropped to the 45-47 degree range. Ocean temperatures remain the same. The Shasta-Trinity NF will conduct some prescribed burns this week, now that conditions have turned more favorable for those kinds of activities. Mushrooms of many varieties showing up beneath the redwoods. The annual Mushroom Fair was held last week. A doe came through the yard, being followed and harassed by a forked-antlered buck, so rutting season is on.
