It's the end of November and at this point we've had no significant rain for 10 days. The total rain for the season is about half of what it was at this time last year. No rain is good for the local Festival of Lights, but not a good for the ground water. It's not that unusual for us to have the bulk of the seasonal rain in January and February, so we'll see. The local farmers' markets are now closed and the only produce being grown here on the coast is in hot houses. The landscape is fully green again and the seasonal mosses are everywhere. We had a full array of wildlife in our gardens this week: a doe, a skunk, three foxes, two raccoons and the local chipmunks and squirrels. Lots of hummingbirds at our fountains, too. The area was pretty packed with tourists and family visitors for the Thanksgiving weekend.
