We have received only 2/3rds of an inch of rain this month.  The ground is soft from a recent 0.16 inches of rain this past week but overall, we could use more rain.

The Shagbark Hickory has lost all its leaves and the ground is covered in leaves.  Some trees still have a number of leaves on them but they are well past their peak in color.  The Forsythia has buds on its stems.

Due to the mild but dry Fall, the birds are not eating as much from the feeders.  The Shargbark Hickory has had an abundant supply of nuts this season.  If this is any indication, there are then plenty of natural foods available for the birds.
