This week, the area enjoyed spring-like weather. High in the 60’s and Lows in the 40’s.  Most of the leaves have fallen, and the trees look ready for winter. My neighbors have mowed their lawns for the last time this season, prepared their lawn mowers for winter, and gas up their snow blowers. The geese seemed confused as they flew south in groups, then turned around and flew back. The only birds at my feeder are the American Gold Finch and the sparrows.
The DesPlaines River has not changed much since the last report. The farmers' fields are tilled, and equipment is winterized and put away.
