A wet November continues, but with plenty of sunshine in between rain storms. Week's rainfall 3.27", bringing the water year so far to 11.36", 123% of normal. Ruth Lake Reservoir up to 81% capacity on 11/20. On the California drought map, only SoCal and the deserts remain in low drought categories. The Mad River is at 7 feet and 492 cfs, while the Eel is at 9 feet and 1174 cfs at Scotia.The temperatures have dropped on the Tinity and Klamath Rivers to 46-48 and 49 degrees, respectively, while the ocean remains at 55-56. The USFS has begun issuing Christmas tree permits in both Humboldt and Mendocino counties. Earlier this month, the California Fire Marshall's office announced that the College of the Redwoods Fire Academy has been made an Accredited Regional Training Program. The local pastures are deep green, and spotted with the white of sheep and the dark blacks of Angus grazing away.
