Staying with Moderately Dry this week. PRISM Normals are 3% MTD (That's only .02" precip in November to date), 67% PRISM YTD, and 40% PRISM WYTD. A few grasses are still showing some green at the base but most other deciduous plants have gone dormant. Lots of bird activity at the birdbath in the fenced yard - crows, ravens, Stellars jays, magpies, pygmy nuthatches, some other LBBs. Haven't seen the elk in a while but the mule deer are hanging around. Snotel sites in my area are reporting 25% of normal SWE in my 6-Digit HUC and 23% of normal SWE in my 8-Digit HUC. So, yeah, it's dry. Area stream gauges are reporting below average flows. Looking out my window at the high peaks there does seem to be a bit more snow up there than last week. No new fire restrictions in the area, just the permanent Stage 1 restrictions in the Estes Valley and Rocky Mountain N.P. The park performed a prescribed burn on the east side this week.
