Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CA-MD-45
Station Name: Mendocino 0.5 NE
Report Date: 11/23/2025
Submitted: 11/23/2025 6:35 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Another atmospheric river since the last report. A total of 2.5 inches, bringing the total for the month to 6.78 and no significant rain is forecast through the end of the month. So,this is about half of the rainfall we had last November, but more than November 2023. We need above 40 inches during the rainy season to recharge the ground water, so fingers crossed. Ocean conditions were difficult for fishing or water sports for most of the week. A good number of tourists in the area, and more will come for Thanksgiving. We have a big group of Juncos in the gardens now, along with other winter migrants such as Fox Sparrows. Still waiting to see the warblers show up--they are insect eaters and much more at risk now.
