The period from mid August through the end of October provided much needed relief from very dry conditions. Rains were particularly beneficial in September and October, allowing for growth of annual and some perennial grasses and shrubs. We just had another good rain here at the latter part of November. Although there have been light freezes, enough to kill tender leaves and some plants, many desert flowers are still green, and there’s new growth of flower basal leaves on plants like scorpion weed and primrose that we would normally see in springtime.
