Description:
Our hot and dry weather pattern persisted into the early part of this week, however we ended this week with much needed rainfall that occurred over the past two days. Our Storm Total rainfall for the past two days is 2.43" inches, and based on the forecast from the National Weather Service we have additional rainfall expected Sunday, and Monday. I am very excited about our upcoming chances of rain, because I love rain and snow in general, plus the increased rainfall will help our fruit trees grow their roots through the winter, and this also is true for my Eastern Redbud Trees, my Loblolly Pine Trees, and our Shumard Oak Trees. Next, our soil conditions seem to have greatly improved with this rainfall, and with the upcoming storm system it is my hope we can say goodbye to our recent drought conditions. I also would like to mention, that while I was walking in our front yard on my way to my rain gauge, I found a white flower that has bloomed recently and I have only noticed these flowers growing in the spring time. I have included a photo of this flower in the upload photos section of my report. Lastly, area wildlife have been active with sightings of various bird species, we have also had multiple sightings of wasps, bees, and even a butterfly recently. I also would like to mention that during the evening hours we hear coyotes howling in the distance at night too, and this can be a little scary sometimes for me especially if I'm outside when the sun is setting.
