Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NJ-MS-59
Station Name: Madison 0.8 WSW
Report Date: 11/17/2025
Submitted: 11/16/2025 9:51 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Thus far for my “Watershed,” that resides in the “Upper Passaic River” Watershed, that covers from 1.5 miles to the NW to about 1.5 miles to the SE and is about 1 mile in width and in the general shape of a diamond;

There were two days with measurable precipitation and two days with trace precipitation for a total of 0.55”, the past seven days [Sunday-Sat]. River and stream volume the past week of the CMR maintained rates of flow over small lake dams west of this station. As of Sunday morning, 11/16; one continued its flow of 10% the width of the dam 6.5 miles from this station moving at a slow volume and with no turbidity. The other, 2 miles to the west, also maintained its flow over its fall, covering 10% of its respective fall and moving at a similar, volume with no turbidity. The Madison Golf Course, adjacent this station had observable play again this past week on some days. The ground around this station is moist and soft. Grass and weeds required maintenance the past week. The new Winged Euonymus or Burning Bush’s on and around this station, dropped 90+% their leaves. Maple trees are looking well with 95% of its leaves shed and still holding its yellow color. Also, the Juvenal Oak’s are holding 95+ of their leaves and the two Ginkgo Trees, also all doing well, have shed 99% of their leaves. No bees were observed. House Finch continue to be active, along with Blue Jays, crows and one very loud Ravin. Neighborhood squirrels were observed, but no Chipmunk. Also; the neighborhood Ginkgo trees that dropped their stinky fruits the past month, are still holding their stink. The first Frost observation for this station, this season, was reported on October 10th. Since then; I have observed and reported a total of 7 days with frost, 1 additional the past week.

Over the past 31 days; this station has captured and reported 4.01 inches of precipitation. There has been 115 days of precipitation the previous 310 days of CY2025 [1/1/2025 to 11/15/2025] for a “Calendar Year” [CY] total of
41.35”, compared to (again) 114 Precipitation Days” and a [CY] total of 47.60” the same [year to date] in CY2024. So far, compared to last year, this station has received 6.25” less precipitation than a year ago. Some other totals from previous years, for comparison, are;
YTD2023- 46.12”
YTD2022- 39.13”
YTD2021- 52.43”
YTD2020- 43.77”
YTD2019- 52.34”
YTD2018- 60.86”
YTD2017- 40.79”
YTD2016- 37.42”
YTD2015- 34.66”  (First full Year.)

The running ELEVEN year average reported precipitation for THIS station is: 45.13” inches, holding this station at a deficit of 3.78” less then the 11 (CY) year average and making this year to date, (still) the fifth driest year monitoring this station. Considering the eleven year annual comparable total for this station, is why I believe that it is appropriate to hold this week’s report on the “Mildly Dry” side of the Condition Scale Bar.
