The lack of rain and dry conditions continue. The peak autumn color has past. There were hundreds of American white pelicans on Rend Lake this week. Many were clustered at the islands on the lake. There are also many gulls, egrets, and blue herons on the lake. I saw two flocks of Canadian geese flying south. Despite the  frost several of my rose bushes still have flowers/buds.
