For the week ending 11/16/2025, conditions were NEAR NORMAL. The 7-day cumulative precipitation total of 0.93 inches was 19% above the 13-year (2009-2022) average of 0.78 inches and in the “near normal” range; the 30-day total of 4.67 inches was 37% above the expected 13-year average of 3.42 inches and in the “mildly wet” range; and the 90-day total of 9.24 inches was 10% below the expected 13-year average of 10.25 inches and in the “mildly dry” range. There were two days of measurable precipitation (consisting of 100% snow), with a maximum of 0.75 inches of precipitation and 10.0 inches of snow on the 10th. The two days of measurable precipitation consisted of 100% snow, a total of 7.0 inches and a daily maximum of 6.5 inches (on the 10th). There were four days of snowpack, with a maximum of 10.0 inches on the 10th. Precipitation Trends—November-to-Date: 1.78 inches (up 0.17 inches, 111% of PRISM Normal); Year-to-Date: 31.13 inches (down 5.52 inches, 85% of PRISM Normal). Temps ranged from 66 F (on the 15th) to 20 F (on the 10th), with average Hi/Lo temps of 49/36 F (-8/-4 relative to the previous week). Due to runoff from melting snow, there was temporary flooding along the margins of Crescent Lake, with a Great Blue Heron foraging for fish in shallow waters in what would normally be our yard. Large numbers of leaves still adorn many trees. The large number of Wood Ducks that had foraged for acorns in the shallow waters of Crescent Lake throughout the fall have now been replaced by small numbers Hooded Mergansers foraging for minnows.
