A week which began with a robust lake effect snow and temperatures dipping into the teens concluded with a pleasant Indian summer. Due to absence, snow accumulation was not measured at this station and the precipitation covers eight days and totaled 0.85 inches which fell in the form of snow. The winter storm denuded most of the remaining leaves off the trees creating a more winter-like landscape. Snowmelt refreshed Painterville and Hickory Creeks so that both streams have light currents but neither have water levels reaching its banks. The warming weather brought tourists to the area and hikers took advantage of the late-season trail conditions. Agricultural activity continues and the warm weather inspired much autumn related yard work. The last of the roadside farmstands appear to have come in. Overall, conditions were about normal.
