Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-BN-19
Station Name: Belvidere 5.0 NNW
Report Date: 11/15/2025
Submitted: 11/15/2025 7:34 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
A total of 0.48" of precip fell over the week with half of it from 1.8" of snow. It was enough to alleviate our moderately dry conditions a bit, thanks to the cool temps and short days. Area waterways remain low and slow so we could really use some soaking rains. We had some impressive northern lights Tuesday night, being mostly red with some green mixed in. First ones I've seen in a very long time. The trees are almost all bare now with a few stragglers still clinging to a few leaves. The tenacious Morrow's Honeysuckles have begun to fade with some still vibrant green while others are losing their leaves rapidly. It seems like we had a lot of squirrels this year and a lot have been run over on area roads. Likely they are hard up to find food as area nut trees were not very productive this year. With a colder winter in the forecast, more than ever it looks like our outdoor cohabitants will need a helping hand. Hello Farm and Fleet. Read my lists.
