Conditions here are now moderately dry.  We are "behind" the long term rainfall  averages and not much  rain is forecast next week.  The ground and forest "duff" is dry and most leaves have fallen off trees and bushes.  The days are bright, sunny and cool and overall current Fall weather is pleasant.  Deer are foraging in the neighborhood and birds are busy at the feeder.
