Since last reported on 11/03/2025, received zero precipitation in gauge catch. The only moisture we receive is occasional condensation in the form of frost overnight. The last time I reported at least a tenth of an inch of gauge catch was 10/15/2025. The time before that was 09/18/2025. Our ground is really dry and has hardened. Last Monday, a construction crew was working on a water main probably to connect the new water storage tank recently built. The water main broke late morning and sent a deluge of water towards our property. Thankfully, our landscaping water diversions worked well. I had to take my soil sample where this water did not reach as that soil remains moist. Soil sample taken this evening down to 3.0" shows dry and dusty topsoil. We are keeping the water feature flowing and the birds are enjoying that. Had a flock of pigeons join in the fun this morning. We had a low temperature this morning of 20F and that mostly froze the water feature except where the water is flowing rapidly. Cottontails are still foraging especially with the grass I water from time to time. We are kind of on the fence with wildfire risk. NWS Pueblo has been raising fire awareness in our area. However, the wind speed isn't high enough to issue Red Flag Warnings. I trimmed back the perennials for the winter. Had a beautiful full moon this week. It looked like daylight one night it was so bright. With the continued zero precipitation and dry soil, I will maintain Moderately Dry Condition Scale.
