Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Four days this week brought measurable rain, but it didn't amount to much, only 0.29". Strong winds came with the low pressure fronts as well, leaving behind lots of twigs to clean up.
Despite the strong winds and rain, Norway maples are still hanging on to many of their leaves. That's spreading out fall cleanup chores. Temperatures have been quite comfortable for spending time outdoors too.
Weather forecasts suggest colder temperatures will settle in this week with freezing temps overnight (I brought my inner gauge and funnel inside this morning and checked my snow board this week for potential maintenance to-do's).
Most of the birds have migrated now, leaving behind mostly crows and sparrows. Squirrels and chipmunks are out and about gathering up maple seeds and other edibles for winter.
Speaking of seasonal milestones - Happy 250th Birthday to all the Marines out there (tomorrow) and a heartfelt Thank You to all the veterans as well!
